We don't need you.

Skeptically, not many youths truly appreciate what Tun Mahathir have done for this country. If there are hundreds of thousands of youths appreciate what he does, not many understand of his policies that he implemented. From a country of agriculture to a heavy industry country, Malaysia had flown through numerous rankings to emerge as one of the top notch countries of South East Asia,  behind Singapore.

Tun Mahathir is well known for his bravery. To the Whites, Europe or Asia Pacific, he's not afraid. He fought well defending the oppressed - mind, body  and attitude. A leader who've flew to Bosnia to help the Muslims who were oppressed, the leader who rejected the offer from IMF, the leader who realized the importance of dinar, the leader who officiates the only Muslim country that manufactured cars. A paradigm shift, I would say.

Talking about his attributes to the countries, countless. Say you're from Malaysia, the diaspora-origin Arabs would say " Malaysia, Mahathir Baguuuus". We will not be ashamed but proud to be called Malaysian, thanks to Tun. Congratulations for the 10th anniversary of retirement. The rakyat is still missing your essence of leadership. 

But we don't need you anymore, Tun. 

Look East Policy will always still be relevant to Malaysians. The Japanese attitude should always be a role model to the Malaysians. Punctuality, non-stop voyage of learning should be always attached to the morality of the Malaysians. How our country grew can be learnt from the Meiji Restoration. Japan, the first country in Asia to undergo Industry Revolution which help it to emerge as one of the global powers. There is much similarities that can be found from Japan's rise during the 19th centure and Malaysia's.

But Malaysians should not refrain themselves to only copy Japan. World trends now have changed. The 2008 economic downfall allowed Asia to overthrow Europe and the White's ego in International Monetary Fund and World Bank. 6 years have gone and the trends is an ongoing change. Asia is now prominent distinctively in economy and oil and Malaysia has to include itself in this game as well. The definition of Asia to me is non-other than China. Japan have left out. China constitute over 19% of population in the world and there's no sign of them to stop .Intellectual manpower is a great advantage to them. A country with a high GDP more than most of developed countries but still regarded as a developing country. 

It infuriates me how come Malaysia have been adoring the Whites again from scratch. 

It infuriates me how come Malaysia follows what they want, which is mainly to reserve their power.

Didn't history teach you enough? Or reading is only a spare time and is not deserved in your busy schedule? 

We do not need you, Tun to reign again as a Prime Minister. You've done well.

The rakyat needs a better leader than you. 

A leader who sees dimensions of opportunities and make the best of it.

Who thinks the best for the rakyat, not following what the rakyat thinks is the best. 

Who sees the future from the past.
A leader who listens.

As I go up, it's heavier.

Responsibility.

To those who don't appreciate, won't find the essence of it. I've always put this thought in consideration. As people are being supported to move further, more than people who are at his level, these people should be given more responsibilities.

One of the responsibilities is the responsibility for the less fortunate ones.

In this world, there are people who've been oppressed most of their lifetime and in Malaysia for the time being, Alhamdulillah wars  have not occurred yet, if it does (as in Lahad Datu) it is being taken care well of by the authorities. Thanks to the leaders who know how to take care of the boundaries of sensitivities , which I believe had been crossed so many times.

Read history and observe the world, a lot has changed but still there are a lot of things still remains that is not well covered or exposed by the mainstream media. If there is a list of responsibilities that people of the world can choose, I believe there is no sign for the list to stop.

We have to read to understand situations.

Unfortunately the young are too influenced by problems which they don't understand. "change" means a life to them. They have their own responsibility as students : they need to give their best shot but unfortunately desire conquered them. It is undeniable the young could change but without proper understanding, they will be like the previous young generation : short-lived. Give them some sugar , they'll shut up. What an irony.

Reading by far is one of the most essential component of changing.
It can change your world view.
It can change your attitude

However, bear in mind that reading is not enough. Action is the next stage.
Because to put one's thought into action is the most difficult thing in the world.

Look Up.

I have 422 friends, yet I am lonely.
I speak to all of them everyday, yet none of them really know me.

The problem I have sits in the spaces between,
looking into their eyes, or at a name on a screen.

I took a step back, and opened my eyes,
I looked around, and then realised
that this media we call social, is anything but
when we open our computers, and it’s our doors we shut.

All this technology we have, it’s just an illusion,
of community, companionship, a sense of inclusion
yet when you step away from this device of delusion,
you awaken to see, a world of confusion.

A world where we’re slaves to the technology we mastered,
where our information gets sold by some rich greedy bastard.
A world of self-interest, self-image, self-promotion,
where we share all our best bits, but leave out the emotion.

We are at our most happy with an experience we share,
but is it the same if no one is there.
Be there for you friends, and they’ll be there too,
but no one will be, if a group message will do.

We edit and exaggerate, we crave adulation,
we pretend we don’t notice the social isolation.
We put our words into order, until our lives are glistening,
we don’t even know if anyone is listening.

Being alone isn’t the problem, let me just emphasize,
that if you read a book, paint a picture, or do some exercise,
you are being productive, and present, not reserved or recluse,
you’re being awake and attentive, and putting your time to good use.

So when you’re in public, and you start to feel alone,
put your hands behind your head, and step away from the phone.
You don’t need to stare at your menu, or at your contact list,
just talk to one another, and learn to co-exist.

I can’t stand to hear the silence, of a busy commuter train,
when no one wants to talk through the fear of looking insane.
We’re becoming unsocial, it no longer satisfies
to engage with one another, and look into someone’s eyes.

We’re surrounded by children, who since they were born,
watch us living like robots, and think it’s the norm.
It’s not very likely you will make world’s greatest dad,
if you cant entertain a child without a using an iPad.

When I was a child, I would never be home,
I’d be out with my friends, on our bikes we would roam.
We’d ware holes in our trainers, and graze up our knees;
we’d build our own clubhouse, high up in the trees.

Now the parks are so quiet, it gives me a chill
to see no children outside and the swings hanging still.
There’s no skipping or hopscotch, no church and no steeple,
we’re a generation of idiots, smart phones and dumb people.

So look up from your phone, shut down that display,
take in your surroundings, and make the most of today.
Just one real connection is all it can take,
to show you the difference that being there can make.

Be there in the moment, when she gives you the look,
that you remember forever, as when love overtook.
The time you first hold her hand, or first kiss her lips,
the time you first disagree, but still love her to bits.

The time you don’t need to tell hundreds, about what you’ve just done,
because you want to share the moment, with just this one.
The time you sell your computer, so you can buy a ring,
for the girl of your dreams, who is now the real thing.

The time you want to start a family, and the moment when,
you first hold your baby girl, and get to fall in love again.
The time she keeps you up at night, and all you want is rest,
and the time you wipe away the tears, as your baby flees the nest.

The time your little girl returns, with a boy for you to hold,
and the day he calls you granddad, and makes you feel real old
The time you take in all you’ve made, just by giving life attention,
and how your glad you didn’t waste it, by looking down at some invention.

The time you hold your wife’s hand, and sit down beside her bed
you tell her that you love her, and lay a kiss upon her head.
She then whispers to you quietly, as her heart gives a final beat,
that she’s lucky she got stopped, by that lost boy in the street.

But none of these times ever happened, you never had any of this,
When you’re too busy looking down, you don’t see the chances you miss.

So look up from your phone, shut down those displays,
we have a finite existence, a set number of days.
Why waste all our time getting caught in the net,
as when the end comes, nothing’s worse than regret.

I am guilty too, of being part of this machine,
this digital world, where we are heard but not seen.
Where we type and don’t talk, where we read as we chat,
where we spend hours together, without making eye contact.

Don’t give in to a life where you follow the hype,
give people your love, don’t give them your like.
Disconnect from the need to be heard and defined
Go out into the world, leave distractions behind.

Look up from your phone, shut down that display,
stop watching this video, live life the real way.

TIME

Whoa, it's been a while since I write something. 

"Life is related to time. To live is to exist for a period of time. Life and time are therefore inseparable. If life is valued, time must also be valued. Unfortunately this relationship between life and time does not seem to be appreciated. Life is valuable but time is not. Time is therefore wasted or completely disregarded. 

Disregard for time is seen in the careless way in which it is spent. Doing nothing, or sipping coffee is almost a national habit. An invitation to ceremonial occasion in a kampong is invariably for an indefinite time. One may arrive at any time, eat at any time, and go off at any time. No one ever arrives on time for a meeting but once started there is no limit to the time it can last. A meeting would therefore start late and end even later, no matter how much the time of the meeting is adjusted to suit everyone.

When there is no awareness of time, there can be no planning and work is never reliable. A time-table is an essential part of the life of modern man. Indeed, the more technologically advanced a man, the more he is bound to time. Without mathematically perfect timing man would never have conquered space. A community which is not conscious of time must be regarded as a very backward society. What is more, it will remain a backward society. It can never be achieved by anything on its own and it can never be expected to advance and catch up with superior time-conscious civilization. There is no doubt that a community failure to value time is one of the most important handicaps to their progress."

These three paragraphs are copied from the book " The Malay Dilemma " written by Mahathir Mohammad. This book was written 30 years ago, after the 1969 tragedy. What was so mesmerizing about this book is that all the problems that were pointed out that was related to the attitude of the Malay really depict the present. I won't say nothing has change in this 30 years period but this could be seen majorly around my friends. What is the cause of all this? Are we being too pampered by all the policies set up by the government? The policies are suppose to assist us to be better in a shorter period of time ( we don't have 4000 years to perfect our civilisation)  but we did not progress to the expectation set by our forefathers. 

This left me dumbfounded. We expect our nation to be capable on competing with other nation in world stage but the attitude of the rakyat still have not changed at all. Not all behaving like this but majority of us. Time must be honoured and shall not be taken for granted. If the most valuable thing in front of our eyes is gold then time should be treated that way. We can move forward if we respect time. We can move forward if we are aware of the consequences or danger of not respecting time. When I grew up I saw the people who excel are those mostly who are disciplined and consistent. Ask these people, do they play around with time? Is time a friend, or an enemy?  

In a fast-paced world, those who are late are left behind.
